Just because I made this post doesn’t mean that I’m a Lady Gaga fan nor against Christianity. Remember, Catholicism is different from Christianity.
Please read before you judge.
Lady Gaga has now arrived in our country. But even before she got here, she has been already facing a lot of negative criticisms about her concert. Religious groups even held a prayer vigil as a protest against her “Monster Ball” tour. All thanks to of course, the influence of the Catholic Church.
According to the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines, Lady Gaga’s brand of entertainment violates the tenets of Christianity. Also, Lady Gaga was said to be corrupting the mind of the youth.
In other news,
The game that took 12 years to make and was anticipated by every gamer in all the parts of the world, Diablo III, was ordered to be pulled out of the gaming market here in the Philippines and retailers were prohibited to sell the popular Role-Playing Game. Again, all thanks to the Catholic Church. Because according to CBCP, they found the game to be “too evil” and “Anti-Christian.”
SERIOUSLY, WHAT THE HELL. (Oh look I said hell. TAKE THAT! LOLJK)
I think the Catholic Church has gone too far.
Before, they wanted to get involved in the government regarding the RH Bill, and now they’re trying to suppress the freedom of the Filipinos.
They’re trying to invade the rights of the people to choose and to express themselves. Seriously, what will they think of next? Banning the jejemons because “jejespeak” is the word of the devil?
Instead of focusing on preaching and teaching the Word of God, they just want to convert people in to mindless, God-fearing citizens zombies that will obey practice their false teachings which is not even the teachings from the bible. Today, the Catholic Church is trying to steal the power of the government. They are acting as if they ARE the government.
I think they’re just afraid that the Filipinos are “leaving the old traditions behind”. They’re not afraid that people are being immoral and losing their spiritual relationship with God. They are simply afraid that the number of the Catholics “na pinapaikot nila”, are decreasing. They should realize that people have minds of their own. Some people might be fond of these kinds of entertainment but they have a closer relationship with God, compared to those “religious” people who recite memorized, and scripted prayers repeatedly.
In my opinion, the Catholic Church needs to stop butting into peoples’ lives too much and start being a bit more open-minded. And also, I think they should gather and read some information first before they make criticisms. ’Cause for me, the Catholic Church now, is just a group hypocrites banning everything that they think is “immoral”, “out of tradition”, and “satanic”. (Sorry for the terms).
